    Help with saving

    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi, hoping someone may be able to help. I really need to save an image (had this prob before) - can save most images as normal, including the copyright ones etc. However, with this other type, when you right click on the image and the drop-down menu is the type that doesn't have "save picture as" and also isn't the normal copyright disabled one - but instead the list contains:

    Zoom in
    -------
    Show all
    Quality
    Play
    Loop
    Rewind
    Forward
    Back
    Settings...
    Print...
    About Adobe Flash Player 9...

Those are the options in the drop-down menu instead... how do I still save the image, is there a simple way that anybody knows??

    Thanks in advance!!

What your trying to save is not a picture file, its a flash file (swf). You cannot "Save Picture as" on a flash file.
try using Print Screen, and paste that into mspaint, then save.

And this is not a programming question, and it will probably be moved elsewhere.

Thanks both kronus and studiot for your help!!;) :) I've now downloaded the software that you recommended studiot and am having a dabble with that!:) I'd also like to be able to take screenshots too as normal..

However, if I attempt to "print screen" it won't copy into either notepad or wordpad and also won't open into any paint program, anybody know why?? Am using WinXP on my Laptop and have tried both whilst it is, aswell as whilst my printer isn't connected to it.

    Cheers!

After you press the print screen button, go directly into some program that accepts picture files. (MSPaint, Word, photoshop, etc.) Then press 'Ctrl+V' (Paste). It should then paste an image of your screen.

Thanks for your response Wyatt Earp :) Unfortunately though, each time I've tried that (on this laptop) it hasn't worked (but it used to work fine on my old PC! I used to paste screenshots into Paint Applications and MS Word with no probs on there).

On this laptop, when I attempt to print screen (take a screenshot) and then paste into MS Paint, upon opening Paint..under "edit" - the "paste" option is greyed out and only "paste from" is highlighted (which doesn't work the same that way). I'm also unable to paste by pressing "ctrl V" - nothing happens confused

Any clues anybody?? Any help is much appreciated!!;)

I expect the web pages viewed have prt screen disabled. You can do this with some Javascript.
    Try instead File>saveas
You might get the picture that way, in the associated resource folder saved with the web page.

I presume that prtscreen and alt+prtscreen work for normal stuff on your pc. There is no on/off key for prtscreen normally in the registry and I can't see an OEM creating one specially.

Hi Studio T - Thanks for responding :) It won't paste any copy of any page whatsoever (even this one)confused The "edit" options always remains the same as mentioned above and "ctrl V" doesn't work in Paint either..

The standard handler, in BIOS versions dated
    December 1982 or later, uses a byte at 0040:0100 (= 0000:0500) to
determine whether a print screen is currently in progress. If it is,
pressing PrintScreen again is ignored. So to disable the screen
snapshot, all you have to do is write a 1 to that byte. When the user
presses PrintScreen, the BIOS will think that a print screen is already
in progress and will ignore the user's keypress. You can re-enable
PrintScreen by zeroing the same byte.

Can't think of an easy way for you to check on this memory location, perhaps another GEEK who knows the memory or tools programs better can suggest a MEMORY VIEWER.

Meanwhile I will keep looking around.
You could try running the system file checker - it may ask for your windows disk in the process.
    start>run>typein
    CMD press return
At the > prompt in the black window that opens typein
    sfc /scannow
    typein exit when finished
