HELP window problems

hi all i had to reinstall windows the other day i am using windows xp sp2 with all updates the problems is the text /fonts on my pc are 1. very bold and dark
2. when i highlight and right click on the programme to close it it has a small r before it. also next to the minimize is 0 and before restore is the number 2. 3.also when i click on start after connections tab and my recent documents is the number 8
4. also when i go to access all programmes ther is a number 8 after every programme installed
5. ther is also in top tall bar ther is the number 6 after the mail icon.

any ideas i have ran a virus scan on it used system mecanics 6 also and still no change

seem to have found my problem been searching around the problem i seem to have is gaelic fonts this is what my fonts must be set as i also noticed i didnt have any fonts in my fonts folder ,Have put some fonts in off my windows xp cd but still no joy must be still set on gaelic fonts. what settings has my fonts got to be? and how do i change go about removing the gaelic fonts
any ideas?????
