I am not exactly sure if this post is the right place but hopefully i can receive assistance from someone who knows a lot about computers etc..

I am trying to run an old game called G-NOME ( made in 1996) on windows vista 32 bit. My computer reads the disc but does not do anything, i click on install but again it doesn't do anything.

I burned it to a CD with just the data to see if it would make a difference but nothing changed. Also when i click on properties there isn't even a ''compatibility'' option so that's out of the question. I can't even click on an icon for that option either because installation never takes place to begin with.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

i managed to get the game working but i get some weird boxes everytime i exit the game.

They say '' application not recognized by windows'', and just a box with a red x, i get about 20-35 of those boxes and i just close them until they stop appearing.

If i run the game again and when i close it those boxes appear, they dont seem to causes any problems for my pc other than just annoyance but how do i stop them from poping up?
