help with ad-aware please

Hello, I have been using Ad-Aware 2007 "free" version until today when I could not get it updated. I then went over to Lavasoft in an effort to find out why and discovered the 2008 free version; however, when I clicked to download it, I discovered it was a "trial" version instead of the free one. So I clicked the "mirror" sites and found majorgeeks. I downloaded the 18.2 MB "aaw2008.exe" file, which took several hours on my "dial-up", saving it on my desktop. I have not double clicked to install it yet; thus, do not know if it works or not.

I still have the Ad-aware 2007 version on my computer and I need to know whether or not I should uninstall it, delete it or whatever "before" I install the 2008 version. (If the 2008 download has an error in it, I would hate to lose the 2007 version.)

Can anyone guide me as to how best to deal with this?

If you like and are set on Ad-Aware then I would uninstall 2007 before installing the newer 2008 version.
