I hope that I am in the right place...LOL. I have a Windows 2000 with SP 4. I was trying to go to add/ remove software per the malware guidelines and my add/remove software will pop up but will not load. It also leaves a grey screen in the middle of my desktop that I can not move. When I go to the task manager it isn't registering in there. Can someone please help?!

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi

Moved your question to its own thread.

If you boot into Safe Mode (F8 at boot) then can you access Add/Remove ok?

Do you have any other issues with other applciations if so what ones and what are the symptoms?

Just noticed your other thread here and very quick look at your logs show you have malware in the Trojan Vundo so should attach your logs to your post in malware forum here as mentioned in the other thread so that the malware experts here can help you.

You may need to slightly rename the names of the logs ie, SASlog.txt to SASlog1.txt as they may not upload twice as you already have them attached in that other thread.

I can access add/remove in safe mode, the only other program that I am having trouble with is disk cleanup. Which will load up about a 4th of the way and nothing else happens. I know that my computer does move super slow...then again this program is 9 years old. Thank you for all your help!! I have attached my logs. I was having trouble with just renaming them so I added my initials at the end of each log.

You need to attach the log from running the MGTools -> C:\MGLogs.zip

What you attached was not the MGLogs......click on it yourself to see what you attached. Please try that again.

I am so sorry about that. I am having problems uploading mglogs.zip so I will upload getunkey.txt.

What exactly is the problem with attaching the MGLogs? If you are still getting the message that it is already attached, then I want you to go back to the Read and Run First instructions and redownload the MGTools.exe and just let it over write your existing one. If it is on the root drive ( normally the C:\ drive) then double click on it and let it run until it tells you to hit any key...and dont forget to click twice on the agreement to run HJT.
