Help with adding Ram

    Ok this is what i have....i have a dell dim 3000 2.39 GHz with 512 mb of ram, just went and picked up 512mb....but....it has two slots with 256 mb ram...so my question is....do i just take one 256mb ram out..and add the 512.....??

    If the Motherboard only has 2 RAM slots then yes. If it has 4 then you can just add it next door.

    My guess is that it has 2, so yup. Pop one 256 out, add the new 512 and you have the RAM set up I used to run.

    Only point to add is that RAM doesn't like being handled much so try to always pick it up and push it by the edges of the circuit board.
