Help with Adware Removal

    I've run all the readme steps.

    The only thing that wouldn't run was GetRunKey. I tried several times. It blinked on and off and didn't save any logfile.

    The system is working okay but I'm still seeing a lot of ads and panda as well as bitfinder said I'm still infected.

    You need to follow the directions exactly for using BOTH GetRunKey and ShowNew. It appears that you are not extracting the files from the ZIP file as instructed and running them from Windows Explorer session. Either that or an error must be occurring. Try following the directions EXACTLY as written and attach new logs from ShowNew and GetRunKey.


    Also download HOSTER and then follow the below steps.
    • Unzip Hoster to a convenient folder such as C:\Hoster
    • Run Hoster.exe, click Restore Original Hosts and then click OK.
    • Click the X to exit the program

    Ok. I double checked the instructions and I was running them right but I was using a copy of those two programs from the last time I had to do this. I downloaded 2 new ones and it worked.

    Hoster has been run.

    Your logs are basically clean! It is just the keyfinder stuff you have downloaded that Bitdefender is detecting.

    Good Deal.

    The ads seem to be gone since I've run Hoster.

    Should I set a new restore point now?
