Help with capturing stills from DVD

G'day all

I want to know a way (without purchasing software) that I can capture frames from my DVD's to put on my web page....

I have tried just doing a print screen when the DVD is paused but it just turns out BLANK.... duh....

Any ideas??

Right click on your desktop, select the "Settings Tab". Once in here click the "Advanced" button. Now select the "Troubleshoot Tab", under Hardware acceleration move the slider to none. This will disable acceleration and will allow you to do a screenshot using the Print Screen|SysRq button. After you have moved it to none, Click OK.

Your screen will go black a few seconds and then click OK to exit. You should now be able to capture screenshots using media player.

After you have captured the screenshots you need, you will need to re-enable acceleration so you won't have any problems with your video.

That's an awesome tip and it worked very wellk.... except that the quality of the pic suffered considerably....

Is this normal???

Yeah, last time I did it the quality wasnt too well.

 

I downloaded tonnes of Freeware and Shareware progs to capture stills from DVDs etc. and the best was Topaz Moment (just punch in a Google search). It's shareware but the quality is perfect and it's easy to use (If I could make it work, anyone could!).
