Help with connecting limewire

I just bought a sony vaio and installed Norton antivirus...I like to go to limewire and listen to music.....I cant open it!! The antivirus wont let me get in...

I tried right clicking and "run as " and that doesnt work...

What do I do?? help

 

If you are saying that you cant open the limewire client software program when you click on the icon, what do you see as you do so?

Not sure exactly what is occurring in your situation, however it would seem more likely to be a firewall access denial rather than anything to do with your antivirus!

Check your firewall access permissions!

 

I unabled a the program that was denied....Limewire and still nothing..


when I click on the icon, nothing happens...

 

Uninstall limewire through 'add remove programs', then D/L and install latest version from your favourite site!

From what I read here in MG, download.com is not trustworthy. So I'd say download.com + already suspicious filesharing= danger.

 

I had gone to a forum to get some help with a virus,trojan,malware, or whatever was slowing my computer to a crawl. I received the help I needed to straighten out my computer. I was also chastized for having Limewire and Morpheus on my computer. I was told by the person that helped me (Administrator) troubleshoot the problem that the forum was not to be used to assist in illegal activity. I guess next time I'll have to find another forum for assistance with computer problems. I hope I can count on MG for help in the future.

 

This is a little out of topic but the poster, as well as you, should know it. Limewire, just like every P2P utility is designed for people to share their own work. You're an artist, new developer, new singer, anything and you want to show what you've got. Downloading copyrighted material (i.e. programs, movies, songs) is illegal. As long as no such download is involved in the problem the Geeks can help you.
