Help with IBM rev 2.8 19r2563

    Hi and thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer. I recently rebuilt a rig for a friend using spare parts from my garage. Everything is running fine but since I cannot find the driver cd for the motherboard I can't seem to get the network adapter/ethernet controller to work. I have downloaded everything I can think of from the lenovo site to no avail.

    The motherboard is a IBM rev 2.8 19r2563 which I think is a replacement for the older 8187s6u. Is there a network adapter from the windows driver install that will work with this mobo or do I need to continue searching for the mysterious driver?

    From Device Manager, right-click on the device that is not working; select Properties. On the Details tab, what is the Hardware Id for that device? That should enable you to identify the device.

    Also to pwillener's great post you could on that PC run the following and this will give us a lot of information on hardware and drivers, what Windows version and Service Pack are you installing in this PC?


    This log attached should give us some basic info on the IBM board and its hardware used, thus allowing us to give you the correct driver, as I did search your original info and I get spurious links to sites alleged to have drivers, that I do not trust.
