    Hello, I need some help.

I seem to have been infected with Idnt2.sys. I've tried running McAfee Enterprise 8.5i, but it says that there is nothing found. Running Spybot also says that there is nothing found.

Please help me my computer makes weird sounds at odd hours of the night when nothing is opened or running. Plus there can be a contant clicking sound heard when nothing is happening.

I have Windows XP SP2 Professional.

    Thanks

Sounds like a hardware issue. I don’t know of any virii that click. I do know of one that only formatted the hard drive of lawyers --- that guy may be my hero --- but that is completely off topic.

Just to be safe though – you need to start here:

If all that comes back clean I’ll lay 2 to 1 on a heat issue causing a faulty fan to get angry. But you'll want to back up your data soon as clicking like that can also be indicative of a failing hard disk.
