Help with ip address change!

Hi a hacker got me to email him, then ha found out my ip address and is threatening to dos into my computer

is there anyway i can change my ip or something so he cant get in ??!??!?!?

 

Hackers can't get your ip address from just an email, unless your running your own personal mail server, which i doubt. The ip address that shows comes from your internet service providers mail server.

If you have a Router and use a Software Firewall an Hacker can not get to your computer even if he knows your Internet IP.

In addition the Address of your computer is an Internet IP. When you send an email the IP that is Not sent from your IP, but the IP of the email server that actually sent the email.

E.g. If your email address confused_guy@gmail.com it is the Google IP that is used and not your computer's IP.

If your information about the issue is coming from friends, they probably are pulling your leg.

 

It is still possible to get your IP from an email though. One rule: Dont click on any links in the email you receive - no matter how tempting it looks

 

Another rule: If you're going to hack someones network, don't email them about it.


I wouldn't worry too much about the email you got.
