    Hi, guys,

I need to backup all emails and contacts from Lotus Notes on two network computers and am having a bit of a hard time with it. The messages are on a server, which poses difficulty for me not knowing how to copy them. I looked for some guidance online and found some stuff on IBM's page, but could not understand what needs to be done.

I looked at downloading backup tools and went through the forum to see if anyone has dealt with a similar issue...if there are posts I have missed, I apologise, if you could copy a link for me, I would really appreciate it, alas, if anyone could offer any input, please help.:wave

Could you give us a link to IBM's guide, please? Perhaps we can translate their geek into proper English.

I believe you will need to be able to replicate your Lotus Notes.

It's been several years since I really dealt with Notes. But I believe once you replicate, it will create databases that allow you to view everything offline. You can copy those files to another machine, but will need Notes installed on that machine as well to view view/use them.

    Hi, guys,

Thank you both for trying to help...After some gallivanting, it turned out back up files can be created by going to File - Database - Replication - Create new - and choosing what you want replicated...Of course, the version of LN my company installed had to be the oldest possible, so this whole experience was a ton of joy. After managing to copy them, however, I discovered I am unable to open the data once the server was dismantled! Go figure how now...

But thank you again for your input.

    Best, Lily
