    Hi,

I'm infested with what I believe to be several viruses/malware. One that I've been plagued with for a while is I receive Internet Explorer pop-ups. Sometimes they include popups for "WinAntiVirusPro 2006", other times it's a variety of popups.

In addition to that issue, I just received something that states "YOUR COMPUTER IS IN DANGER! on taskbar " and contains a red circle with an "X" in it lower right taskbar- says "windows security center has detected spyware/adware infection. Click here to insall latest protection tools.

I've attached a copy of HJT log.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can't get out of SAFE Mode..Help

I was following the procedures to clean up malware. I was to the step to boot into safe more.

I ran msconfig as recommended and in the boot.ini tab check off the /safeboot checkbox. I restarted the computer, and it booted to safemode.

However this is where the problem is. I am unable to log on in safe mode,
even though my username has administrative rights. Windows keeps rejecting my
username/password combo. I tried to log on as "administrator" and with no
password and every other password that I could think of, but safe mode
windows will not allow me to log on.

Does anyone know how to get Windows to boot to Normal mode again from
outside of windows??? Because of the Boot.ini.. /safeboot that I checked
off, I can't get windows to boot normally. Any ideas would be much
    appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Dave

Do you have a bootable copy of your Windows XP SP2 CD?

You will need one to boot to the recovery console. From there you should be able to change the hidden boot.ini file.

Did all user accounts (including the Administrator account that only shows in safe mode) have passwords on them before this problem occurred? Also was the Guest account disable?

Note: You have a lot more problems than WinAntivirus!
