Hey guys, I need help with my build. I had the community help when i was 14 building my first pc and well, now I am 24 and it is still running strong (just a hard drive recently replaced thats it) however I want to update. I never have messed with water cooling and would like some input and opinions. I would like to make a nice setup to where I liquid cool as much as possible. I am now a business owner and have a larger budget then when I was 14 haha but would still like to be smart with my money. I would like to stick with an AMD setup as that saved me money and performed flawlessly for me over the years. I already have a blu ray drive from my last pc and a new PSU. I would like a new more modern case. I prefer the looks of the glass ones but am unsure on its cooling capabilities as many seem to not have vents or they are totally open and imo would allow dust to accumulate. I have the antec 1200 and that worked well with filters covering fans but maybe they are unnecessary these days? I would like to install multiple graphics cards. Possibly 2 8gb cards? (seems 8gb cards are some of the best cost/performance). I want to use this for business and gaming. I have a feeling if I build it for modern gaming it will be good for business. I will be using VR, general gaming, CAD (blender), sony vegas, almost all adobe programs, other 3d printing programs, stock trading, backups, and central media hub for streaming movies to my TV's and other lighter duty stuff not worth mentioning. Having said all that I would like to see what you guys recommend for me. I just want the best bang for the buck but also dont want something that I will have to upgrade in the near future. Similar to what I did 10 years ago but a little beefier. I wanted to use the ryzen 7 but maybe something else?? Some of what I said above may be ignorant as I have been away from pc building for a while so please drop some knowledge :p

What should i get for a
    Case:
    CPU:
    MOBO:
    GPU:
    HDD:
    RAM:
    Water Cooling Setup:
    etc.

P.S. I will be using externals too. 1 for my media, 1 for my backups, and one for my desktop/games(maybe 2 separate). I was thinking about going with an SSD for my OS and startup programs and the rest of my programs and games installed to the external. The idea being to not need a large SSD and be able to back up stuff in a more organized manner(in my eyes). But maybe having the more power hungry Programs and games installed on an external and especially not an SSD is unwise? Thoughts? any feedback is appreciated. Thanks to all who have helped in the past and to those helping now!!

    Budget and current screen resolution?

A single graphics card is often the most power hungry device inside our computers. Two power hungry graphics cards would certainly be very demanding. What PSU do you already have?

I generally recommend against using the same computer for business and entertainment. Too risky. Consider two computer, each optimized for their specific purposes. You can then use the gaming rig as a backup for your business machine. And of course, you can then claim your business computer as a business expense.

Tempered glass cases are no better or worse than solid steel or aluminum. It is the design, not the material that matters. But generally tempered glass is found on better cases that typically offer great cooling options.

Don't forget to budget for a new operating system license. Old licenses typically are not legally transferable to new computers. It is particularly important for any computer used for business to be 100% legal.

I personally never use hard drives anymore - except for long term archival storage. For example, to use for the "off-site" backups of my business records I keep in the safe deposit box at my bank.

My screen resolution now? It's 1080 but should that matter as I'm building a new complete setup? Budget is undetermined as I want the best bang for the buck not the best bang money can buy as if I have unlimited money. I don't want to comprise the solid build to save a little but also dont want to pay twice as much for a 10% better pc. Hope that helps clarify my financial goals in the build. The psu Is the supernova 1200 p2.Let's just focus on a gaming rig for now as my business related tasks don't require much and most likely can be accomplished on a laptop or this desktop. I could wipe this one clean(new hdd and os should make it so no entertainment purposes are linked right?) and use it as a business pc. I am currently on windows 7 so I planned on getting windows 10 on the new build. Major reason I want 2 graphics card is to support 6 monitors which I'd be buying later on. Kinda wanted to do this in stages.

stage 1: main components built to make it usablee. Maybe just on board graphics for now?
    stage 2:Graphics cards
    stage 3: 6 display setu
    stage 4: VR setup

having said that, maybe I need the graphics cards in right away if I'm doing a liquid cooled setup. May be easier? Stages would just be easier to make it not seem like one big blow to my bank account lol.

I like to store all my stuff on externals then buy backup externals that are set up at another location so it backs up off site. That way both places would have to burn down or both hard drives go bad at the same time to have a loss. Since I get new stuff to back up constantly it would be a pain running to the bank all the time. This way I also don't have to pay a cloud service or worry about a company I go through being targeted by hackers since it's a personal cloud. I like the glass cases for Aesthetics. What are some you recommend? I would prefer a black/darker theme with rgb built in. I also have room for a full tower and prefer the room to work with but if a mid tower is better let me know. The only thing I do for business on pc that would require a more then average setup would be trading stocks with multiple monitors hooked up. I don't think blender uses much, I could still do editing on my gaming pc and if it's for my business just transfer The final product with a drive or something.

You can hold off on graphics cards now. But obviously, you still need a graphics solution. So you will either need a budget card now, or a motherboard/CPU combination that support integrated graphics now, then add cards later.

While you can mix two different cards, I generally recommend getting matched.
Full towers are HUGE and generally only needed for those who will be installing 10 drives, and many many cards. A good mid tower is still plenty big with lots of room to work in. Remember, the main difference between a mid and full is just height. Width and depth are the same.

I generally pick the processor I want first. Then I pick the motherboard that supports it and has the other features I want. Then I pick compatible RAM.

Claiming an unlimited budget doesn't do anything for me. Get two of these then. Graphics cards are not very big and you get free shipping! Too much? Then two of these - and they are already water cooled!

Do those cards actually preform 4-20x as well as a $500 card? As I said before, I've been out of the pc building for a while so explorations behind your recommendations would be appreciated. I don't want to buy what some guy on the internet says. I want to make an informed purchase. If those cards truly are worth the money I'll get them but I have a hard time believing 2 $10,000 cards would would be 20 times better then a $500 card. Having them pre liquid cooled is nice if I add them later so I don't have to pipe it into the existing cooling system but I wouldn't mind doing that. Maybe I will try a mid tower but both fit under my desk and neither need room above it so if height is the only difference it really won't save me any going with a mid. Just a loss of space. I could make my storage bays internal too so it uses more of the case. Although either size would most likely fit them anyway.

But yeah best bang for the buck not best bang money can buy. I'll say it again. I don't wanna pay 20x the cost For a gpu if it only preforms twice as well. I don't want to spend 10x the cost to get a pc that runs 10% better then a build costing a tenth of the cost. it would have to be roughly 10x better so 1000% better preforming if it was 10x the cost.

You have to define your needs. You might also check out this: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-gpus,4380.html

As for mid tower vs full tower, remember full towers are heavier too. That matters to me when I have to tear my systems down to lug outside for cleaning. Fortunately, with a decent filtered case (I like Fractal Design R4 and R5), I only need to do that maybe once a year. Your mileage may vary depending how how dusty your environment is, how many people and pets you have shedding dander and hair, and if you have any 2 or 4 legged rug-rats running around stirring up dust.

Ok so after looking around and reading I'm thinking either the 1080 to or 2080 ti. I hear the 2080 and 1080ti are neck n neck performance wise and the 2080ti is about 30-35% better with a 40ish% markup so I figure I would go with the 2080 ti especially if I catch a sale this month however I am hearing some alarming failure rates amongst the 2080 ti so I want to stay away. I'm sure the warranty will work but who wants to go through that, what if it doesn't, and what if mine fails just after. Not sure between the 2080 ti and 1080 ti now. But one of those. Such as posted below. Opinions? Also maybe we should talk processors next? https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E1...ufiRPjt_ZCygk0Q7mu4yae-XbCha8IXcaAjBJEALw_wcB

You can "what if" yourself out of anything. As for that card, I would say it is way more than most people need.

I recommend you find a card you are interested in, then plug it and the word "review" into Bing Google and see what the expert review sites say.

Look at user reviews but do NOT put too much stock in them. With user reviews, it is important to note happy users don't complain. And most buyers don't come back after they have used the product for a while to write reviews. Also, users typically don't have comparable products to compare with for proper side-by-side (A-B) comparisons, nor do they have properly equipped testing facilities or the necessary technical training for a proper evaluation.

Often times you will see products down-rated because it was a different color than shown on Newegg, the Post Office delivered to the house next door, UPS delivered it a day late, or the box looked like it fell off the FedEx truck. So if I am considering a product, I read the user reviews but I don't put a lot of stock in them, UNLESS there are several complaining about the EXACT SAME genuine fault/defect with the actual product.
