help with new HDD problem

I just bought a new HDD, a Seagate 320GB SATA 7200/16mb/sata3

Now my PC has already 3 HDD inside tha main is a SATA 3 250GB 16mb , the games HDD is 160 GB IDE and the 3rd is 80 gigs IDE for pics. When i installed the new one i could see it in the bios and it was ok. I saw all the drives (4)that i had. When I logged on I saw that i could only see 3 of them but not the new one. I went to device manager and saw that it was there. I went to device manager and saw it there but it was unrecognized. The main sata is at location 0 and the new one is at location 1. I even tried swapping them from position but nothing happened, it displayed at the beginning NTLDR is missing and didn't start. I put them back and it started but still no 2nd drive ( i removed the other 2 to see if that was the problem)still nothing.

 

With the hard disk connected , did you go to computer management, and click on the new drive, and initiate it, then format it, and it should then be accessable.
If you are not sure of the drill
Right click, My Computer.
left click manage
Click Disc Management
In the lower right pane , you should see a list of hard drives.
Click on the new one, to initiate it, and format it, and it will allocate it a drive number - I am assuming you are just using as seperate data disks, not as a Raid setup.

 

You need to decide if it is going to be for data, (simple) or, as a logical drive(extention to your C Drive.
