help with norton

    ok ..i have xp... no sp2 ... other than that updates are current...i put norton internet security on my windows box and turned on the firewall ...did the program scan ...and now ie wont work if the firewall is turned on ...tryed many things.. help plzzz ...what i want to do is run ie ...with the firewall turned
    oh ...just another note oe works fine with it turned on

    I don't use Norton but have you told Norton that IE is a trusted program and csan connect.

    I use Outpost and when first installed it has to go through a learning process of what is safe to run. As well as IE there would be Outlook Mail and maybe a downloader. In fact I have about 24 trusted programs running.

    Hav a look at the help to se if it tells you how to tell Norton to trust it. Evry time any of my programs are updated I have to tell the firewall again that they are alright.
