Help with PNY 6600GT

ok i have a PNY 6600GT AGP card, it says that the temperature monitor is disabled....i have herd that u can enable it many ways....

1)flash ur bios
2)some weird bios mod that sounds very long

Is there a way to get a temp. reading with this card???

I use coolbits to see mine.

Just extract and run it. should add some registry files and then you should have the temperature readout in your video card settings

 

realy!!, i herd u had to edit ur bios and stuff, but ill give this a try...what video card do u have?

 

I have a suspicion your card will not have a temp probe,a few 6600's dont,the standard forceware driver will detect the sensor if your card has one and show you the temp without installing coolbits

 

I have a PNY 6600gt and it doesn't have a temp probe

 

MellowMan it does have a probe it is just disabled dude, search google on "how to unlock Nvidia 6600GT heat sensor"

it has a temp. sensor but it is disabled by Nvidia to "discourage overclocking", as said by Nvidia's site!!

Not to be rude, but Did u guys read my post??? I need to find out how to enable it, not how to read it, i know that already...I use RivaTuner

I read how to i just need someone who has maybe done it or knows how to unlock it??

So if anyone has info on how to unlock the sensor i will appreciate it and will reward u with 1,000,000 smile faces VIA Email!!

 

Ive got a 6800gt. Have you tried the coolbits yet?

 

apparently you can mod the bios on the video card to get the disabled temp probe to work:

yeah thats what i figured, im gonna give it a try and ill let u know mellow man....it says that this mod has worked with PNY so ill let u know!!!

 

after it get it replaced that is!! the stock cooler wasnt sitting on it right and burnt part of the chip, so im just gonna get water cooling kit!!!
