Help with RAID 1

Sounds simple enough........

I'll be installing (2) 1.5tb HDD's with an existing 256gb SSD.

Turn on > config bios > boot normal ........

Is that it ?? Should I partition the (2) 1.5 hdd's ??

After that I would need to install my backup IDE HDD, then transfer the Data on the backup to the RAID.
Copy > Paste ??

Yep, if your MB has raid on board that will work.
The only step I would add is a raid driver, especially if you have an Intel raid.
I don't think partition would be good, format and make folders.

 

Mobo is a Gigabyte MA790X-UD4P with a AMD Phenom II X6 1090T CPU
Running Win 10 Pro x64

I did not see a RAID config in BIOS, maybe I missed it though.

 

Rather than post a bunch, read the link below completely if these steps don't work.
1) Check the CD or find the drivers online for your chipset and OS, put on CD or USB drive.
2) in the BIOS set the "on chip SATA type" to RAID, reboot watching closely as entering the RAID setup may have different key than BIOS setup, probably CTRL-F

Well all that did not work!

After installing driver, setting up BIOS, then config RAID,
I end up getting the repair loop > Inaccessible_Boot_Device

Tried numerous restarts, shut downs, Recovery, different BIOS settings........Same ......

Shut down, disconnected RAID drives, reset BIOS to org. and back to normal.

OK, lets have it, What did I do wrong? :confused
