    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
      • Bitdefender
      • Panda Scan
      • HijackThis
    .
Now in a second message (this will be necessary - only 3 attachments per message are allowed) do the below.
Now run the below procedure and attach the runkeys.txt log. Now run the below procedure and attach the newfiles.txt log.

Hmmmm! No wonder you have problems! You are running without any of the below:

    - Antivirus
    - Antispyware
    - Firewall

You will have to address this immediately after we fix your current problems!

Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.

Now please downloadThe Avenger by Swandog46 to your Desktop.
    • Double click on Avenger.zip to open the file and extract avenger.exe to your Desktop
    • Copy the below quoted text (which is a script for Avenger) into your clipboard by highlighting it and pressing
      CTRL+C
    • Now, run The Avenger program by double clicking its icon on your Desktop.
    • Under "Script file to execute" choose "Input Script Manually".
    • Now click on the Magnifying Glass icon which will open a new window titled "View/edit script"
    • Paste the text copied to clipboard into this window by pressing (Ctrl+V).
    • Click Done
    • Now click on the Green Light to begin execution of the script
    • Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.
The Avenger will automatically do the following:
    • It will Restart your computer. (When the script being executed contains "Drivers to Unload",
The Avenger will actually reboot your system two times.)
    • On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
    • After the reboot, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log
file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
    • The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped
them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.
Please attach the c:\avenger.txt file to your next message.

Now make sure viewing of hidden files is enabled (per the tutorial).

Please run HijackThis and click on the Open the Misc Tools Section button on the open page. Then select Open process manager on the left-hand side. Look for the following process (or processes) and one at a time kill them by selecting it and then click Kill process. Then click yes.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\wfxqhv.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\zqskw.exe
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\{DCA913F7-03E4-1033-0307-010713200001}\Update.exe
    C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\zrwk\zrwkm.exe
    C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\zrwk\zrwka.exe

After killing all the above processes, click Back.
Then please click Scan and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now we need to Reset Web Settings:
    1. If you have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, goto step 2. If not, skip to step 3.
    2. Now right click on your desktop Internet Explorer icon and select Properties. Then click the Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK. Then skip step 3.
    3. If you do not have an Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, click Start, Control Panel (for some systems it may be Start, Settings, Control Panel), Internet Options, Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings". Now go back to the General tab and set your home page address to something useful like www.majorgeeks.com. Click Apply. Click Delete Cookies, Click Delete Files and select Delete all Offline content too, Click OK. When it finishes Click OK.
Now reboot in normal mode and post a new HJT log.

Also attach a new log from ShowNew and new log from GetRunKey.

Make sure you tell me how things are working now.

    Just delete the below file:

    "C:\Documents and Settings\mohammad\Local Settings\Temp\b115.exe

Based on you last logs you should be clean (other than the above); however, you have not set MSconfig for Normal Startup as per step 7 of the READ ME. You have a CRACKED version of Bearshare hiding. Besides being illegal, cracked software often comes with other malware baggage. In addition Bearshare has always bundled malware withit.

Are you still getting popups? If so, what are they for and exactly when do they occur? Do they occur when no browsers are opened?

thanks for reply. i deleted that file. every time i click on my desktop i hear clicking sounds like windows about to open but nothin opens up. and some times i get messages form Windows Explorer telling me that certin site is opend illagely and if i wana allow that. other then that no popups. they do occur when no browsers are open. i think IE blocks all the popups or some.

do u recommend using antispyware and firewalls. which ones can u direct me to some good ones.

    thanks

This just sounds like you are using the Windows Firewall and it is notifying you of various things. The Windows Firewall is not very good as you will see in the link I'm giving you below. It should be replaced by a real firewall.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to go back to step 1 of the READ & RUN ME to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points. Then reboot and enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

After that, you should work thru the below link:

How to Protect yourself from malware!

Attach a log from Antivir that shows exactly what it is finding and where it is finding it.

Also attach a new HJT log and download the latest version of ShowNew (it changed since you last used it) and attach a new log from it.

This is not a big issue! Just minor junk from browsing. Exit ALL browsers and then do the below:

Note for IE 7 users: You need to select Internet Options then the Advanced tab and then Reset Internet Explorer Settings!

If that does not remove the file then delete the file yourself. Antivir showed the below:
    C:\Documents and Settings\mohammad\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\Z33H5PNP\popup[1].htm

    Notes:

    1) You never uninstall Viewpoint Media Player as requested in the READ ME.

    2) You need to update your Sun Java version: Sun Java Runtime Environment
