help with system restore, exe files?

    hi, i think i have a virus on my computer, it happened a couple of days ago, i've messed around with it a little but with no joy, i had error msg's so tried to do a system restore but got this msg c:\windows\system32\rstrui.exe the extended tributes are inconsistent, i had errors with norton so tried to uninstall tehn reinstall it but i'm now unable to install this, can anyone please offer any advice? i'm ready for any question, thanks very much.

    my os is windows 7

    If your computer is able to boot into windows (normal or safe mode), head to the malware section of the forum

    If you can't boot into windows, do you have any restore/recovery disks or a windows 7 disk?
