Help With Writing Html In Notepad

I often write in Microsoft Word 15 at work, and when I want to work on the same document at home on my laptop, I save the Word file as an HTML and edit in Notepad at home. (I don't have Word on my laptop.)

There's a font I have saved on my laptop's hard drive that I'd like to use in this HTML file. I want the text saved in a Headings font only to be replaced with this new font, but every time I open the doc as a webpage, the text remains Times New Roman. When I do a global Find and Replace, that makes the entire document this new font.

So, what I'm asking is, how do I change the font on a certain section of text? You'd think highlighting and choosing the new font would work, but that hasn't helped either.

 

I don't think there is any selective text formatting in Notepad but there is in Wordpad.

 

Thanks. I'm trying in Wordpad now. Does anyone know of a way to maybe do a search for all headings in a document, and type in the HTML for the new font? I know to type <b> and to close it if I need to bold something, but how could I apply that to different fonts?

 

There's a program called LibreOffice that's compatible with Word documents. It also handles HTML. Give it a try. There's some excellent online help which you can use Google Search for.
