    Hi all.

I have a process running called DFRGNTFS.EXE which I cannot stop.

I presume it is DEFRAG, but I don't know what is running it. It isn't there when my machine starts up, but it usually starts after about 10 - 15 minutes... and once it starts, it constantly uses 99% of my CPU and I can't stop it or even change it's priority..

Does anyone know how to stop it running, and in fact what is starting it?

    Thanks
    Mick:(

Did a search, seems this is a prob for other people too... do you have Diskkeeper installed??

    De-install and re-install possible?

Nah, that's the puzzle... I haven't got or had Disk keeper on..

I've stopped it from running teporarily by renaming dfrgntfs.exe to something else and deleting it from the Service Pack files folder, so it can't automatically put it back... but I still don't know what's running it...

    Cheers dude

I guess that means that it's just Windows running it?

    I have no scheduled tasks..
