Hi can anyone help my hangs and freezes?

I have the same problem as in this thread.
    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=76840

Even when I am running Firefox ieexploe is running in TaskManager

(But I could not find the rogue files that solved the problem for that poster)

This is not just a matter of wasting resources.
The PC has become prone to Freezes.
    It has XP (SP3) & IE7 installed.

    Main Symptoms

(1)I cannot delete documents or programs easily.
The “deleting” window freezes and I have to end the programs in Task Manager or do a forced shutdown.
Dragging items to the recycle Bin works more often but eventually this freezes with broken panes of open programs frozen.
Also in My Docs if I open some lager files (.bmp) when I close them they remain greyed-out and frozen in My Docs.
All deletions cause a freeze then taskmanager shutdown or a forced shutdown.

(2)IE7 is very sticky & won’t always close.
And when I try to force it in Taskmanager there are two instances running when only one is open

    For malware.I have run

    Avast
    Spybot S&D
    Superantispyware
    Malwarebytes
    SD Fix
    Combo Fix
Adaware 2008 (Adaware AE will not load)
    CCleaner

For Registry Issues I have run

    CCleaner
    Glarysoft Registry Repair
    Free Window Registry Repair 2.0

I have run Memtest86+ (Memory good)

I looked up Recycle Bin issues. In Kelly’s Corner.
    When I tried this
“Go to Start/Run/Regedit. Edit/Find, in the Find what box type in: {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}. The only reference to this CLSID should be for the Recycle Bin. Many users have found up to 12 references to this key under different third party programs.” http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_qr.htm

In my Right Hand Pane were four other items under (Data) Recyle Bin

    I am totally lost!

We still need the logs from running:
    SAS
    MBAM
    ComboFix.

However, from your MGLogs.zip, I am not seeing any malware.

    Thanks Tim,

    Here are those logs....

Is there no malware on the PC.

    What else could it be.

I installed (& then got rid of) RealPlayer.

I also uninstalled & reinstalled Java around about the time the trouble started. Also Windows updates I think???

    Thanks again

I am not seeing any malware in those logs, however, we will await TimW's response on the matter. In the meantime:

Important Notice: A new version of SUPERAntiSpyware is available.
    • Please uninstall your current version (this is necessary).
    • Then download this SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Install this new version. It may tell you that you need to reboot to complete the installation. You must reboot at this time.
    • After the reboot, run SUPERAntiSpyware and immediately click the Check for Updates button to get more updates for the database.
    • Now run a new full scan of your system. And attach this log later.

Your logs are clean. The issues you are having need to be addressed in the software forum.

Please put ComboFix directly on your desktop, otherwise the below will not work.
If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
