Help!

Computer is trashed and it will not let me backup to reformat. Working through malware , but nothing still working.
My friend said I can upload to his server.
He is suggesting

Anyone know how I can email myself my fav's from FF and my music and seminars from WMP. Not sure if this is in the proper place, if not please tell me where to put it.

I am working in malware. NO one is helping me to figure this out at this point. The title does not explain what I want to know now. I have downloaded this program....the Core FTP... my friend in England told me to do it, not anyone here! I am in the middle of it and it asks do you want to backups I do not understand what it wants me to do about creating copies at backup time... I do not want to put all these program on , because they may have a problem.. or maybe I should... I am confused .... so, I am trying to do this for over 3 weeks.
I was told I need to put things in the right place. software in software, hardware in hardware, and malware I am working on. The AVG problem is solved this is a new one and no one ever told me where I could upload, finally , my friend in England offered. I am disabled, my computer is MY LIFE> I am being very careful. I am a newbie and this is over my head at time.
So, pleas excuse my putting it in the wrong place, however, this is a new issue, re this program and I was not getting any help in the last few days and it keeps crashing and I have to get all the information off today.

I can't help you with Core FTP, I tried a different one and it was hard to setup, I think it was called WS FTP, but you can e-mail your important files as attachments to an account of yours until you solve your other issues. I believe they allow a max of 10MB per e-mail.

You can backup your FF favs using MozBackup and e-mail that also.

As to your music and other files, you can do the same thing but if you have hundreds then your friend is right, an FTP I think would be easiest in the long run as you would just have to indicate which folders you want to backup. Sorry I can't help you more as it's been several years since I've used them.

Oh, you can upload up to 100MB/file to mediafire.com It's a free account. Good luck as I know what you mean about the computer=life. I still pull wheelies in my chair at my age!:-D

EDIT: I'll try setting up Core FTP as I have nothing else better to do ATM. Maybe I can save you some time and :banghead.

 

OK, just let it do the backup or not as it's your first time. As to the rest, I'm at a loss for now, check the FAQ http://www.coreftp.com/faq/. Get your friend to walk you through it or someone here will be able to do it. Good luck!

 

Thanks, you are awesome.... I am sitting here in tears.. not old but disability stinks! Thanks for trying to help! It is hard my friend is in England he is a total geek and IT executive, so , it is hard for him to understand why I cannot figure out how to do it.
I tried Mozy , but they said, what I put up there I cannot bring down to the computer at reformat. It will not recognize it! Sugar honey , iced tea!

Thanks again, we are using Core FTP and he is sending it to his server. Then burning a CD, he will sent it back and if I cannot make it work then he will mail the CD from the UK
Still waiting for it to upload before I finish malware ck. Found two so far.
