Do you get a POST Screen when you start up the computer? If you do, restart the computer again and press and release F8 repeatedly to get to Safe Mode. Go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features and uninstall the Wild Tangent game(s). Then restart the computer in Normal Mode. I've heard and read derogatory information about Wild Tangent.

I don't know what a POST screen is...but all I get is a blank, black screen so there's no way for me to tell when to press F8. Even so I did it as you suggested but still nothing...just the usual...a blinking light telling me the pc is on. When my pc did work, there was a sign on screen..i even tried signing on, hoping my cursor was in the right place. Still nothing. Anything else I can try? Thanks!

Is this a laptop or a tower?

anytime i touch a someone's computer and i see wild tangent games installed, i always ask the owner if i can uninstall them. you don't want those programs on a computer. my initial thought about the problem is that the monitor died. if you turn the computer off and on and the monitor remains blank, it's probably hardware related. in the old days, it was easy to tell when CRT monitors were going bad, but LCD monitors will just stop working, they don't warn you when they are going bad. you would need to borrow a known working monitor and hook it up to your computer and see if that resolves the issue. if the screen is still blank, then i would think the video card is the problem. i've seen worse instances of coincidences... one time i had a good working computer, i unplugged it, moved it to a different desk in the same room, plugged it all back in, and then spent the next 2 days trying stuff and changing out various components, but it never did work again. anyway, good luck with it.

It has no tower. Everything is in the monitor.
