The file symlcsvc.exe the error message is referring to is related to Norton Internet Security Suite.

Your HJT log is clean so I would suggest uninstall Norton rebooting and then reinstalling it. If this doesnt do the trick then I would recommend AVG AntiVirus and ZoneAlarm Firewall.

No Avail =( Oh well I really loved NIS for it's web borwsing security, If I would come across a bad active-X or something it would prompt me to block it or anything I wanted to do.

But it's being stupid and I'm not reformatting a brand new PC.

Does Zone Alarm have a feature like that or anything?

You say this is a new machine, correct? If so, shouldnt it come with a reinstallation disk?

ZA's easy-to-use firewall blocks hackers and other unknown threats.

    • Intrusion Blocking systematically identifies hackers and blocks access attempts.
    • Stealth Mode automatically makes your computer invisible to anyone on the Internet.

No, It's a Dell you have to make the recovery disk, Same with HP and Compaq

Eeh, I tried Avast and Zone Alarm Got something about a conflict...I like Avast better than AVG, And Zone Alarm seems to have better features than Kerio, Can they still co-exsist together and work properly, I clicked Yes and Instead of no when it asked me.

I have 3 new Dell's and both came with the disk to reinstall the OS, Pre-installed Software, Drivers.

They will be the "Blue" Dell Disk.

You must only run ONE antivirus and ONE firewall. Running more than one will cause conflicts on your computer.

Mine didn't I've looked and looked nothing.

ABout the Compatibility issues with Zone Alarm and Avast you know anything about this, Has something to do with Webshield, Don't know if they will work together right or not should I take off zone alarm and use Kerio?

EDIT, Avast is and AV I have only 1 AV and 1 Firewall but it says they're software is incompatible with each other.

I wouldnt think they would be, never heard of it. As long as your running only one firewall and one antivirus you should be ok. If someone has heard about it, I'm sure they will drop a message in here.

Also, be sure you have the up-to-date versions.

Ahh found this, It's a peice of paper with a printed picture of a disk say "Your new computer does not require an opertaing system CD or drivers CD, Instead, If you ever need to reinstall your software, use the following method"

I have something Called Dell PC Restore Uses 6 blank CD's to resotre the computer to original state.

I've never used Restore on any system so I wouldnt know much about that. I always do Repair Reinstalls or Clean Installs.

In your case, if you have nothing on there you really need like documents, music or games I would go ahead and Restore it to its original state. If you do have things you cant lose then I would dump Norton and get AVG with ZoneAlarm...just my opinion! Its all up to you.

Let me know if I can assist you with anything else.

Reboot your computer, press F1 or F2 to boot into the BIOS. In the BIOS you will need to find the Boot Sequence and set the CD-ROM Drive as firt boot.
