Help

Computer is 3 months old and I have a problem when logging on.

I have Windows XP.

When I click on my user name which takes me into the main computer screen it seems to go funny and take off and have a mind of its own.

When I place my cursor over a desk top icon or on my start menu it automatically takes me into it, even though I haven't clicked my mouse button.

Not only that but if i say click my internet icon it bring up over 30 internet explorer screens and goes clicking crazy.

Is there anyway at all I can stop this from happening?
It has only started doing it last night?

I've cleaned my computer and scanned for spyware and viruses but nothing, presume there may be just an error or fault with the computer itself.

Any help would be grately appreciated.

It sounds like your browser has been hijacked.
What did you use when you scanned?
There is a cleanup procedure in the Malware forum -
READ & RUN ME FIRST
I think you should run through that procedure and if you still have IE problems, post back in that forum. Otherwise, post back here.

 

We use AVG Anit Virus, Ad-Aware SE Personal and Microsoft Antispyware.

Not sure how my desktop could have been hijacked as internet use has been minimal.

Installed a game yesterday which installed itself into Microsoft office for some reason. I have now removed this game but the problems are still persitting.

I would really use LBMEST's advice on this one, if I were you. Although internet usage may be minimal as you said, it only takes one click to get infected. Curious as to what game that you installed that caused the problem, and whether it was from a CD or downloaded?
