I am not seeing anything in your logs. Perhaps you should explain what your problems are exactly. :)

Clean logs are alwas a good thing!
The problem occurs after a restart. While the rest of the start up applications are running a window pops up on the desktop that didn't use to. The address in the blue bar at the top of te window reads c:\program files\common. at first there were two files located in the window, helper.dll and helper.sig. after i performed the scans the helper.dll file is no longer present but the window still pops up with the helper.sig in it. what should i do to prevent the window from opening?

Thanks again for taking a look at the logs

I deleted C:\program files\common using explorer and upon reboot the window did not appear. You rock. Now on to the contents of C:\Program Files\Common FIles\...

    Works for me...:)

Now we just need to cleanup from running the scans:
Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

If you get a success message, then:

I received a success message for the regedit.

I then worked through the rest of the instructions and am now completely golden!
Thanks again for all of you help...I truly appreciate it!
