    Hey Everyone,

    Okay so here is the deal. I was looking into some stuff for the new Iphone 3gs when one of the sites I went too for information on the Iphone 3gs gave me a couple of nasty viruses. I believe it was a blog. My nod32 picked it up as well as my purchased versions of Malware Bytes and SuperAntiSpyware, but I guess something still got through.

    I discovered this as one of those fake antivirus programs popped up. So I proceeded to boot into safe mode and began the cleaning process. Well the first time I tried safemode I guess I didn't do it fast enough as I booted back into normal mode. Well, after about being in normal windows mode for 3 min the computer decided to reboot on it's own for some reason.

    I decided to test it out and sure enough booted into normal window mode again and within just a few moments it restarted the computer again. I figured the virus must have done this. Well I finally got into safe mode and started cleaning when I ran CCleaner First and it kept coming up with sometype of corruption error for some file called Etilqs which were located in the temp folder of Documents and Settings/HP - Administator/Local Settings/Temp

    It was for about 4 of these files and kept telling me to run checkdisk or something like that. For now, I ingnored the error messages and just kept running through each cleaning process. Well eventually I got to combo fix and it discoered a bunch of rootkit files and needed to reboot. I rebooted back into safe mode and it deleted them, but once finised with everything it just made my screen go back and it stayed that way for 2 hours.

    I posted earlier to this issue in the forums. Well I decided to just reboot and tried to get back into safe mode and it wouldn't let me. I tried 6 different times with no success so I decided to try and boot into normal mode and see what happened. Everything seemed to boot normal, but for some reason chckdisk activiated and scanned my system before normal windows booted and it said it corrected errors it found.

    Well everything seemed fine in normal window so I performed the final two cleanning processes in normal window mode. I decided to try to reboot into safemode again and now it works fine so don't know what caused that issue.
    I also had a problem with Firefox earlier as well as everytime I googled or clicked on a link that link got redirected.

    I have sinced finished all cleaning and posted the logs for inspection. I have booted back into normal window mode and firefox seems to be fine now and those temp file errors seem to be fixed. Either way here are my logs for inspection.

    The final cleaning log will be in the next post since the attachment can only handle 4.

    Thanks for your help in advance.

    Josh

    Thank You

    Let's do this:

    Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    Driver::
    fmsfh
    keqnhk

    File::
    c:\windows\system32\UACwkncqtqyriywevpmr.dll
    c:\windows\system32\UACnqwevxobacyexuspu.dll
    c:\windows\system32\UACqtfgqdeumbivitnfj.dll
    c:\windows\system32\UACxvhpdppufhxfjolcn.dll
    c:\windows\system32\UACyqrctcahuxtcrhqbw.log
    c:\program files\qzepktaz.txt
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\ihimmic.sys
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\xbecom.sys

    * Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    * At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    * You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    If it asks you to overide the prvevious file with the same name, click YES.
    * Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif
    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Now clean out this folder ( everything except items from todays date):
    C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\Local Settings\temp\

    Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:

    * C:\ComboFix.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    First off, thank you for the help. Here are the two logs you requested.

    UPDATE ON COMPUTER PERFORMANCE

    So far the computer seems to be running okay except for one strange issue. For some reason my windows firewall keeps turning off and turning off by it's self. I don't have a aftermarket firewall installed that I know of. I do have Nod32 Antivirus and that is about it.

    I once had the Nod32 firewall program, but that was a while back and my computer was recently restored to factory so I would assume that would have erased the old firewall. Either way, currently I don't have any firewall beside the window xp one and my only anti virus is nod32.

    Beside this one issue everything seems to be running fine that I can detect, but once again you guys are the experts.

    Thank You

    Windows firewall is worthless. Please download and install ( but do not install Threatfire ):
    PCTools Firewall.

    Now lets do this:

    * Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
    If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    * Also make sure you have shut down all protection software (antivirus, antispyware...etc) or they may get in the way of allowing ComboFix to run properly.
    * If ComboFix tells you it needs to update to a new version, make sure you allow it to update.
    * Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below code box into it (make sure you scroll all the way down in the code box to get all lines selected ):
    Code:
    KILLALL::

    RootKit::
    c:\windows\TEMP\~RMS146B.TMP

    File::
    c:\windows\TEMP\~RMS146B.TMP

    DirLook::
    C:\39eba30069178cb096d1

    * Follow the prompts.
    * When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    * I will ask for this log below

    Note:

    Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

    Now download the current version of MGtools and save it to your root folder. Overwrite your previous MGtools.exe file with this one.

    Click the exe and attach the new logs for:

    * C:\ComboFix.txt
    * C:\MGlogs.zip

    Your logs are clean.....If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real-time protection. They are useful as backup scanners.They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    5. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures in step 3 the READ ME for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
