HEY, anyone help me,PLEASE

OK,
I have a old Foxconn N570SM2AA motherboard[close to 3 y. o.]It was overheating last summer,but this winter I bought an EVGA 280 GTX and when I put it in ,it was sitting right on top of my chip set.And right now I need to keep the temps a in my room at 72-73 so I can watch some movies.
Please ,can You tell me of any way to find out exactly what is overheating.
