Don't know if you and the rest of the malware fighters have discussed this, but thought I'd mention it in case it causes O3 confusion of "I never installed the Yahoo Toolbar".

The recently released version of CCleaner(Beta) has the option for installing the Yahoo Toolbar, and even when unchecking the box the entry showed up in HJT anyway. It seems to be harmless, but I know you've heard the stories about that toolbar and even though the consensus is that it is safe, just thought I'd bring it to your attention.

The entry, as of yet, does not reappear after fixing and running CCleaner.

Thanks for the info Star! I have not updated to the new version yet so I was not aware of it.

Were you trying to attach something in your message?

I've got 2 images up...you can't see them? All our 'puters here show them. Perhaps you need to run a spyware scan :D

I see them now. Earlier they were not loading. But access from work to MGs was slow at the time.

Chas, just to update this, noticed tonight even though I had unchecked the install-toolbar option during the CCleaner install, it showed up in my add/remove list anyway. I cannot see the logic as to why a file cleaner would need to be co-branded with a toolbar, so I think I'll go back to using Empty Temp Folders.

    LOL!

Halo said he had no problem with the install when he uncheck the option for the toolbar. I wonder if he looked at a log though.

Yahoo must be paying people to add it to their software. Nero has it now too but there are downloadable versions of Nero without Yahoo Toolbar.
