Hey Darlene!

I noticed that those fires are getting rather close to L.A. and I sincerly hope that you, and yours, are nowhere near that mess.

 

I was about to ask the same, Stubby... They sure do look awful on the news! Wildfires are hard to fight.. The wind can change on a dime! I hope Darlene is OK.... We might just have to shout a little louder tho.

 

Still here, the fires are a good distance from me but all around. It's typical, every year occurrence. I cough more then usual but grateful to be breathing.

I still remember when I was in CA, seeing a big burned out patch of land, with a tiny area of green, with a unburned house in it, and a huge homemade banner saying 'Thank You Fire Fighters!' :cool

 

They are amazing. Sadly two have lost their lives this year. Like you said all burned except a small patch where a house sits, that's incredible isn't it?
I was caught in a spot while at visiting once where the road was blocked on one side of the mountain then some fool started a fire on the other side. Thought we were going out via helicopter, thank goodness we didn't.

Also people were showing up from miles away with horse trailers and pet carriers moving animals to safety. Does a heart good when folks step up like that.
