Hey, I'm a newbe, and I could really use some help on this one.

I am homeschooling 3 kids, and I create some of my own resources. I have only been doing this about a year and a half, so I've got it figured out (maybe sort of) and would like to step it up a notch.

I am building a website where I can share everything that I create. I have done an alphabet story type thing, but nothing with any real characters.

Though I am ok with computers, I can not draw people or animals.

I need a program that will help me to draw characters so that I can make stories, both animated and not, for my website.

    Thanks

I think it's great that you're a homeschooler. My wife and I homeschooled our 3 kids. They're all out of the house now and doing extremely well.

Anyway, you may want to try Googling "Drawing Software" and "Animation Software". There's quite a selection on the net. Some are free, others are not, but most have a 30 day trial. Download some of the trials to see if that is what you are looking for.

    Here's a couple of programs I like

For drawing this one is pretty good:

    http://www.drawinghand.com/

    Animation software: (freeware)

http://www.anim8or.com/ (has quite a steep learning curve, doesn't do everything, but it's a great start in the world of animation)

Hope you find one that suits your needs. :)

That's not really what I need. I have a program for animation called GIF construction set pro, and I can use paint and Greeting Card Factory Express for the drawing, but what I need is a program that will turn a 2d object to 3d then possibly back to a 2d. I can make the character look at me, but I can't draw the same character in different stances or like he turned to the side.

What I want to be able to do is to turn the same character around at different angles without having to draw all the angles.

because I can't seem to get the drawings right:confused:

What you are asking is no small task at all. You need a program like Bryce to do what you want and if you're just "ok" with computers you're going to spend another year just learning how to use Bryce.

The program Kniht has suggested, while a well intended suggestion (and fairly cool program), simply gives existing photos a 3D "effect" rather than turning your image into something you can rotate and observe from different angles.

    Thanks
    That's exactly what I need.
