Hi All, assistance needed with N+

I am new to Forum, refered to by a good friend. I would like to ask the Forum's assistance if you please..
Need to get all different types of cabling and connectors pictures and descriptions please.. anyone can assist?
At present studying N+ and need all the help i can get like cram notes, practise tests/exams.. anything that can assist me really...

I took the N+ about a year ago. I didn't study for it so I can't recommend any materials... experience with networks will go a lot further than study guides. From what I remember though, be sure you know the OSI model, common ports, topologies, hardware/wires/connectors, protocols, and firewalls. There were also some common sense break-fix stuff too.

Just re-read your post. If you don't know what 'cat5' is or what an 'RJ-45' connector is, you might not want to attempt this test for a while.

N+ doesnt just cover RJ45 or Cat5.

 

Of course it encompasses more, but he said he needed pictures of cables and connectors. If he's thinking of taking the test and is not sure what is what, he's a ways away from being ready. (I used cat5 and rj45 as examples.)

I don't see where he says he is taking the test already. I see he is asking for more material to learn from though.

Nothing wrong with that. We crawl before we walk. Looking for more information to learn from is the right thing to do.

I agree with you 100%. The request for cram notes and practice tests gave me the impression he is taking it soon. You're right though, might not be the case.

Just to clear the air about my...innocent asking for assistance....didn't know there would be speculation for posting thread...before assistance...
No, i am not anywhere near to take the test and wont take it unless i am sure i know at least 90 persent of the work.... don't waist my time that way.. but reason for asking for more assistance is because i do practise questions between the chapters, as this is the way i gained my A+...works for me!!
Thanks to all that where really trying to help, but didn't appreciate the sarcasm...think we should all help each other and not be selfish..at least, that is the way i was brought up..

Usually people use cram notes as last minute refreshers, which is why I assumed your testing was imminent.
