Hi all, I desperatly need help,

:cry, Hello & TY for being here.
I'm here because I really am, as my user name says, "no way a geek".
Well, here goes. I opened an e-mail @ work on my Yahoo e-mail, that apparently had a virus attached.
My Boss 'saw the AVG warning flashing & immediatly cleaned it up. He was really cool about it, (especially since what I'd opened, had come from one of the contacts HE'd assigned me, with the other 'not' work related jokes etc...

he did 'instruct me to open another account & use it just for work related items" did / done

However, @ home I still have the 'red & yellow star" flashing on my yahoo
e-mail notification'.

His instructions to me, were to 'go to my control Panel add/remove programs & Delete McAfee. Did/Done.

Next come to this site & Download /Install / Run (from Tx or Fla = Free DnLd)
1) advanced windowcarev.2 then scan/repair did/done problems removed

2) Avg 7.5 Did/ Done problems removed fixed /repaired

3) I O Bit Defrag (& keep Monitor open) The same box he'd had @ wk came
up
but... No colors showed up in the box as he'd had,
I could see the color codes @ the bottom of the box, but 'couldn't didn't'
scan/ repair / fix anything :confused
my box @ home was blank like there was nothing there to be scaned or
repaired.

BTW, I have 'dial up' and it took almost 9 hrs just to Download the one Program alone. Then a couple hrs to run & scan it.

He wasn't in today and won't be in for the duration of the wk. I use my computer @ home as well for work & am @ a total stand still.

Can someone please help / tell me, What did or didn't I do, or need to do @ this point? Sorry for the essay as a beginner, but hopefully this w/ be a 'no brainer' for one of you in here.
