HI & first time poster needs help

Hi! I have been a user of this great site for a long time and only now I need some help and advice.

I am using a genuine version of XP x64 and this is about the 3rd formatt and reinstall since ive had it. Now the first time I used it everything was fine but since then it hasnt been. The problem may be simple to fix but i cannot for the life of me sort it.

The problem is that i cannot seem to get a firewall to work properly. I prefer to use http://majorgeeks.com/Sygate_Personal_Firewall_Free_d3356.html but i cannot get this to work now. If anyone can help that would be great or at least if you could point me to another good firewall that is compatable.

First of all Welcome
Question did the Sygate Fire wall work on the first install ( you said you have done 3 ) because as far as I know the Sygate will install on XP 64bit but it won't work. The best free one I feel is Comodo. I personaly don't use an extra software Firewall I use windows and my router

EDIT: tried installing the firewall. Says cannot install on this operating system. And i cannot update to x64 because of this obviously :confused
