Hi new and needing help

    Hello to all,
    Recently my computer has slowed down opening programs and crashing (freezing up) allot . I use AVG Free and it says that
    C:/WINDOWS\system\kernel32.dll
    C:/WINDOWS\system\shell32.dll
    have changed could this be the problem? AVG does not say that it is a virus just changed. I also have windows live one care which seems to be useless and never finds anything. Also i run ad-aware every day. Any help would really be great.

    Windows Live One Care and AVG are both anti-virus protection. You really should only run one AV system. Not sure changing this will resolve your problem, but it certainly is good free advice :)

    Moved your original post to software as it gained some good advise.

    Yes as Lev pointed out OneCare and AVG will conflict and slow your PC down, especially in opening applications as they will both be scanning the same files at the same time, remove one of them and see if the slowness resolves itself?

    shell32.dll and kernel32.dll are core windows files, they should NOT have changed unless you installed some windows updates or a services pack
