Hi a have a problem I don't know how to solve at all :p

It's like this: When I am trying to play on a local network or online, something goes wrong.

Like I was trying to play the new Red Alert with my friend. We all had the same verson of the game. We clicked on "network" button in the game and then you can see the other player and you can start a game and such. The problem is that they can se eachother, but I can not se them and they can not see me (in the lobby) :( However one of my friends started a game so we could join him, but I did not se anyting. My other friend found the game and joined and they could play, but I could not even see the game. But when I created a game so that they can join me, they could see my game, but when they try to enter it it just stand that "operation timed out" :(

This happens in other games like Ages of Empires and the battle for middle earth II also :(

I don't have turned the firewall of and the games is in the "exception list" anywhay so I belive the firewall sould lett me play :p ??

Please help me out here :p That would be great =)

anytime i've had that problem it's been a firewall issue.....not sure what you said, "I don't have turned the firewall of " does that mean the firewall is turned OFF or is it on? are you using windows firewall? if so, try disabling it for a little while just to see if they can connect...same goes with it being network or online......are you running through a router? you may have to manually open the ports that the game uses in order for others to connect to you.

Thanks and sorry there. I have tried with the firewal turned "off" and I have tried it with the firewall "on", but when it was "on" the game I was playing was in the list that should lett the game "go through" the firewall and lett me play online or in a network.

I am living in a student building now so every network conection goes through a main router I guess =)

How does I manually open the ports then? :p I will try anything you say :p hehe Almost ^^

if that's the case then you might not be able to do anything about it...you might want to ask the tech dept if they can check out if it's a network problem and maybe help you out with the ports but i doubt they will do anything for gaming...

Start the games, hit network, then alt-tab out of it. The message from the firewall should be there. Windows Firewall forced me to do it that way.
