Hide, Remove, Or Delete Go?

Is it impossible at this time? Hunted the web and google help but all instructions do not match current screens for google calendar. I am so fed up with seeing birthdays for people I don't know anymore and they show up as four entries on a calendar day! HOW DO IT STOP THIS?

SO frustated. Hours spent on something that should be simple. I wish there were a way to get Google OUT OF MY LIFE!

 

Top left of the Calendar screen are three horizontal bars. Click them and they will open the left pane on which you can show or hide the calendars you want. Within any calendar you can delete entries with a right click.

 

Thank you. Perhaps my problem is deeper. I am not showing the Birthdays calendar yet I am still getting birthdays popping up on my calendar, often twice, one even nine times! Any idea where these are coming from?

 

At the bottom of that left column is Other Calendars. Are you sharing calendars with others?
