    Hi
I am running windows xp. I have recently noticed that my machine would regulary freeze or run slow whilst on the internet. The CPU usage is constanlty over 90% with the system process using most of the cpu (about 30-40%). My laptop keyboard and touchpad work only intermittently in normal mode but seem fine in safe mode. I have uninstalled norton 360 as this was sometimes saying that it failed to load correctly. I am currently using a usb mouse and Keyboard on my laptop. I have run all the tests as recommended and have attached the logs. I would be grateful if someone could have a look and advise me please,

    Update:
I have since figured out that the problem was a faulty DVD drive. As I had no feed back I figured I needed to reinstall Windows XP. Then realised that the DVD drive was playing up. Installed another drive from an old laptop and all seems fine now.

Sorry! We are extremely busy of late and it could take a couple days to get answers.

Just an FYI, your logs were clean.

Since you are not having malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. Go back to step 6 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
