   Running WIN XP Pro - 1 GB Ram on Dell D800 Latitude
   Why would pagefile.sys be using 1.5 GB of memory? I did have a problem with a temporary file using up 37 GB of space, which I have deleted, would this have caused this to ballon up and does that affect the performance of my laptop? Any help on what to do to correct would be appreciated!

   The page file increases, if you let windows manage it, to add to the installed RAM if what you are doing requires more RAM.
   
   Pagefile recommended setting used to be 1 1/2 times the amount of installed RAM; I do not see usage of 1.5GB to be unusual.
