HIJACK this log. NEED help please.

i use mozilla firefox. all used to be well. now i have some uncontrollable popups that usually come two at a time. they usually look like this:

http:// w w w .forbes.com/column/associatedpress/feeds/ap/2005/11/23/ap2351823.html?partner=traffic&
http:// w w w .cool-discount.com/normal/yyy65.html

the yyy65.html is very common in these popups. I also get a popup on my desktop, its usually a picture of something with [x]close somewhere on it. other than that i dont think i have any other problems.

any help and steps to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

• Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/images/grenade.gif Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

i already read and eliminated some of the stuff that i have never heard of. but that didnt stop the pop ups. could you please analyze the log for me?

 

I understand your frustration but your log shows no signs of the online scans being ran. Please go back and run the online scans then attach a fresh HJT log.

 

thanks for being patient. i have to go to class now, i'll do that stuff when i get back and then post the new log.
