I can't do searches or click links with certain anti-virus associated words without my browser closing immediately (such as hijack this, a v a s t, a v i r a, etc.). This is preventing me from reregistering my a v a s t anti-virus protection that I currently have installed that will expire in a week or so.

Also, every time I plug in my usb flash drive the autorun.inf file on it triggers trojans that pop up continuously on my a v a s t alert until I remove the usb drive. When I go to delete the autorun.inf file on the drive, the m.exe file appears a few seconds later and renames itself into another "autorun.inf" file.

I found a place with someone who was having the exact same problems as I was and got their problem fixed:http://www.d-a-l.com/help/spyware-adware-viruses-hijackthis-logs/57116-hijack-wont-run-m-exe.html. I was hesitant to try all of those steps listed in the link, but I do have Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and I ran Brute Force Uninstaller. I do not have, nor do I know how to get hijack this since everywhere I try to download it my browser closes immediately.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hello rjs87,

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run theREAD & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can running steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
