Hijacker help

Not sure but since he is being redirected could this be a hosts file issue?

 

I don't think this is a hosts issue. I have gone back throught the HijackThis and Startup logs and see nothing that is out of order. I not all that familiar with SBC Yahoo but don't they use a specially designed and branded version of IE.

ktatt33 When you say click-on the email tab, I am assuming you are using yahoo's web-mail. This may be a settings issue. Double check all you SBC Yahoo DSL settings and make sure they are set correctly. You may have to log in to SBC Yahoo's help site to find that information.

 

okay I went under settings and the internet home address is set to about:Blank...I can't change this setting...It won't let me

 

Ok, looks like you still have the about:blank Hijack.

Important steps to getting this tool to work properly:

Make sure system restore is disabled

First unzip all files from the zip folder to a folder or your desktop. Start it and hit ok. Then hit update. A new screen should popup. On that screen hit Check for Updates. If it says it found an update hit Download Updates. If it doesnt it will automatically tell you and exit. Now for the scanning part. Hit start and then Ok. The program should start scanning. Then hit exit and reboot.

Once rebooted run about:Buster once more to make sure everything is ok.

If this doesn't work you may have to go back to the Spyware forum with this problem resolved.
