Hijacker help

I made the mistake of downloading (what I thought was) a Photoshop plugin and wound up with Several viruses, worms, hijackers.....You get the idea. So I followed the directions on the "How to: Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal" board. http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 I still had residual effects of the about:blank hijack after all of that. So I did what every graphics idiot would do, I backed up my art, broke out my XP pro disc and got ready to start over. I decided to reinstall Windows over the ruined one just for sh%ts & giggles, and guess what? It worked. I don't know if it was the fact that I now have every virus scan & protection, anti-hijack, browser rescue program ever made (including the beta microsoft ad removal software), or if it was just luck. Whatever, I'll take the luck. The advice worked, just wanted to say thanks...
