    Hello,

This email is 1 of 2 that I am sending. I have a HP Pavillion ze4420us running XP Pro SP2 with 1GB of RAM and a 100GB HD. All updates are current. Attached are 3 of the log files from the processes described in the "READ & RUN ME FIRST" post. The problem I have been having is that the machine restarts itself, usually at night, about once a week. I would like to eliminate malware as the cause before I take more drastic steps (e.g. replacing the HD.) Interestingly, while running the SpyBot scan in Safe Mode, the machine restarted itself. I was able to successfully run the scan the second time. Thank you in advance for your time in looking at the logs and any suggestions you may have about cleaning up my system.

    Jay

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

Your problems are not due to malware. They could be due to a defective memory module or overheating or another hardware related problem. Should may want post a message in the Hardware Forum. I would suggest opening up your PC and cleaning all the dust out, make sure you fans are running properly, and run a memory tester program. That is as far as I can work this in this forum which is reserved for malware problems

You should however delete the below two files that Panda and Bitdefender did not like:
    C:\Downloads\Arcade Classics\arcade-3.6.exe
    C:\Downloads\Home Keylogger\keylogger-download\HomeKeyLogger-setup.exe

Uninstall the Sunbelt CounterSpy trial since we are finished with it now! Then delete the below two folders which may be left behind by the uninstall:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sunbelt Software
    C:\Program Files\Sunbelt Software

Also uninstall the below old versions of software:
    J2SE Development Kit 5.0 Update 5
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 3
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 5
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 8

Make sure you reboot after uninstalling the above!

After reboot, now install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

If you need the Sun Java Development kit you can get it here: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
