Below is a log file from HIJACKTHIS!. I would appreciate any comments/suggestions, as this system is spitting out spam like crazy!

Thanks in advance for the help....

    EDIT: Removed incomplete HJT log

    Hi and welcome

While we are only too pleased to review your HiJackThis log, it is incomplete, so will not give an overall picture of what is going on, we do however have a guide that needs to be followed before we can provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis

OK, I have been following all the steps set out for us. Went to run Windows Defender and realized I needed SP2. Upgrated, but when I truy to update defender or run the online removal tool, I get the blue screen of death. Every other program seems to work ok. What do you suggest? Should I still send the h-this log even though I can't get the defender log?

Please advise...and thanks for the help!

No, without Service Pack 2, you are open to a lot of problems, so repairing anythign will not hold up. I would try safe mode with networking and try updating.

I tried safe mode, no luck. Any other suggestions?

Were you able to do any of the scans as mentioned above by Halo?

    Hello tommyt,

If you are unable to run the scans in Safe Mode, then run them in Normal Mode. Any scans you were not able to do I need to know which ones.
