Hiren's Boot CD never scans C:

I have worked on several computers in the past with major malware infections (unbootable to windows). And I've booted Kaspersky Rescue Disk for the majority of initial malware removal before. Kaspersky could not get rid of a boot sector virus, so I popped in Hiren's Boot CD to see if it would help. I have never once had Hiren's Boot CD scan the C: drive (where all the viruses, malware, etc ARE) but instead only scans the B: drive (which is a 700+mb drive with the tools on it). This does no good, the B: drive never had any viruses as It was just created when booting to the live CD.

HOW does Hiren's Boot CD need to be told or forced into Scanning the C: drive? I've seen no threads explaining this, guides on what to do right, or any problem like this anyone else is experiencing. I've tried several copies of Hiren's with the same result. Upgrading to 15.2 right now to see if there's a difference, but I don't have high hopes for it.

Is there a way Hiren's Boot CD can scan the C: drive in Mini XP mode instead of always just the B: RAM drive?

PS - The C: drive is in great health and all the files are visible, viewable, editable without issue. C: is accessible in Mini XP mode without any error, but unable to be scanned.

 

Upgraded to 15.2 and it now seems to be partially scanning into the C: drive (still seeing alot of scans showing up either on the B: or X: drives when scanning, though). Anyone else having issues like this or is it impossible to get Mini XP to scan the C: drive by default or selection?

 

I don't think you're going to get any help with Hiren's Boot CD. Major Geeks along with many other forums consider Hiren's to be warez. Sorry.
