**HJ Log**

    Hi all, once again i return to this fantastic site, however it is not a problem of my own, its a friend's issue. He has assured me that he has followed the steps in the sticky thread, so could somebody please quick have a scan over the following hj content and advise if there is anything which needs attention.

    In-line incomplete log removed

    The READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support was not completed. For example: the online scans were not done...had they been there are key entries that would show up in the HJT log. HJT was not installed properly. It was run from here: C:\Documents and Settings\Adam Jones\Desktop\hijackthis\HijackThis.exe and our tutorial outlines the steps for running installing it to this directory (or similar): C:\Program Files\HJT not from a temporary directory. Other key programs were not installed. Additionally, The top portion of the HJT log posted was completely missing.

    Please have your friend go back and follow the below steps. We can't help unless he does his part too. :)


    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

    Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.


    After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

    When you return to make your next post make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    Bitdefender
    Panda Scan
    HijackThis

    It would be much more useful if you told us what malware problems you are having then just posting an inline HJT log which does not follow forum protocols.

    Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    Okay! Thanks to AbbySue for pointing out you already started a thread. Please remain in one thread until your problem is resolved. I'm merging this thread back with your original thread to keep all info in one place.

    It looks like you may have run everything from the READ & RUN ME now, but you must attach the two logs that were requested in step 6 of the READ ME. But you must install HJT properly. This was already pointed out to you by AbbySue. You still have it here:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Adam Jones\Desktop\new dl\hijackthis\HijackThis.exe

    That is exactly where we request that it not be installed. Read the instructions in step 7 again and click on the link given too.

    Also we really need to know what your friends problems are? Has he already started a thread in this forum?
